Important: To participate it is mandatory to provide a valid medical certificate at kit pickup or earlier, confirming that the participant is fit to take part in events involving physical exertion from running, mountain running or cycling. The certificate must be issued no earlier than 6 months before the start. You can download the form here.
If you are a member of a sports club under a licensed federation and have already passed your annual medical check, you do not need to present a separate certificate. A document from your club or federation that you undergo regular medical control is sufficient.
If you do not have a valid medical certificate or a document from a club/federation, and you have not taken part in Tryavna Ultra this year, you can undergo a medical check on site when receiving your starter pack (fee: 12 BGN).
Participants without a medical certificate or a club/federation document will <strong>not be allowed to start</strong>, and the participation fee is non‑refundable.
Participants and competition rules
External assistance is not allowed on the course except within +/- 100 meters before/after official aid stations. Pacing is forbidden.
Every participant must be in good physical condition and able to use a map, compass and GPS in all weather and at any time of day or night, and move safely in mountain terrain.
Each participant is obliged to help another participant in an emergency situation.
Participation is at the competitor’s own responsibility. The organizer does not bear responsibility for any injuries or incidents to the participants during the race.
Each participant is personally responsible for their equipment and for equipment provided by the Organizer. The participant must carry all equipment according to the race instructions from the Start to the Finish. Loss or leaving equipment on the course may lead to disqualification.
Each participant must wear the bib number in a clearly visible place as provided by the Organizer.
Each participant should be able to give first aid.
Participants have the right to wear sponsor logos.
The organizer, medical or rescue team reserves the right to stop a participant if their physical or mental condition does not allow safe continuation.
The organizer is not responsible for participants’ actions that are in violation of the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria and the rules of Pirin Ultra.
All questions related to the race and results must be addressed to the Organizer; appeals may be submitted in writing.
In case of severe meteorological conditions, the Organizer reserves the right to postpone the planned start times by up to 24 hours.

Please pay special attention to your running shoes: they must have suitable trail lugs for technical trail running. Participants wearing road-running shoes or with worn-out lugs will not be allowed to participate.

Important safety notes for this route
Special attention – the area around Pirin peak from km 45 to km 55.
The area is remote and difficult to navigate at night and in low visibility.
The trail is in poor condition – juniper, dwarf pine, scree, big rocks, proximity to vertical rock walls. Surfaces may be wet at night and early hours.
Avoid approaching hazardous sections on the northern side of the main ridge.
From Dautovo Lake to Pirin peak there is partial marking placed by the organizers.
There is no water in this section. Reliable water sources are available at aid stations 3 and 4.
Move carefully and at reduced speed to avoid injuries and incidents.
